History of Columbine Valley, Colorado
In 1955 a Home Owner’s Association of 17 families decided to establish a community around the Columbine Country Club (a championship golf course). Families loved the area’s open views of the mountains, a plateau and the winding South Platte River valley. By 1959 the 200 homes within this quiet and spacious area became an official town. Named after the state flower, Columbine Valley elected its first mayor and board of trustees. To ensure the community building up around them maintained the same level of quality in construction and etc., its borders expanded.
